River Place

River Place is a massive 1,650-unit co-op complex in Rosslyn, consisting of four highrise buildings — North (1121 Arlington Blvd), East (1021), South (1011), and West (1111). Built in 1954, it’s the largest residential community in the Rosslyn area by a wide margin.

A large outdoor pool, convenience store, dry cleaners, and salon are located in the center of the complex, and a large fitness center is in the South building. The on-site services create a self-contained living environment that’s unusual for Arlington. Two important things buyers need to know: River Place is a co-op (not a condo), which affects financing and resale, and the buildings sit on a land lease that expires in 2052.

The Rosslyn Metro station on the Blue, Orange, and Silver lines is a short walk away. River Place offers some of the most affordable ownership in Rosslyn, but the co-op structure and land lease require careful consideration. Buyers should understand both before making an offer.
