Fairlington

Fairlington is a massive development of townhome-style condos in the Shirlington-Fairlington area, originally built in 1944 with 3,197 units. It’s actually a collection of seven separate condo associations — Fairlington Village, Fairlington Mews, Fairlington Commons, Fairlington Meadows, Fairlington Arbor, Fairlington Glen, and Fairlington Green — collectively known as Fairlington.

The combined amenities across the associations include pools, a community center, tennis courts, basketball courts, playgrounds, and reserved parking. The scale is remarkable — the community spans dozens of streets in South Arlington and functions as a self-contained neighborhood with its own identity, tree-lined streets, and brick-and-slate architecture.

There’s no Metro within walking distance, but the area provides good bus connections and easy access to I-395 and Shirlington Village. Fairlington has one of the most loyal resident bases in Arlington. Units trade frequently, and buyers are drawn to the combination of historic charm, generous outdoor space, community amenities, and a price point that remains competitive for the county.
